Our events ambassador and retail co-ordinator, Steph Race, had the chance to ask David Pears ? retail manager/director of Lewis & Cooper a few questions
?How long has your business been established?
Lewis & Cooper was established in 1899
Please give a brief history/description of your business
?For more than a century the Lewis & Cooper name has been associated with hampers, fine foods and wines.? From our bustling store in the quintessential market town of Northallerton, North Yorkshire, Mr Lewis & Mr Cooper built a world-renowned gourmet emporium shipping hampers packed with local delicacies and gastronomic delights far and wide. Today the tradition lives on handed down from generation to generation, to ensure those with a taste for the finest things in life may still acquire a food hamper or gift basket of uncompromising quality
?What makes you unique/why do you think customers choose you?
?We?re still independent and family run in a world dominated by supermarkets and big chains. We also have access to a greater choice of products from the everyday to the rare and unusual. Our biggest passion (apart from gin of course!) is local produce, Yorkshire has an incredible variety and array of independent producers, which we love to feature.? Most of all it?s our team?s knowledge and love of fine food and drink that makes Lewis & Cooper unique?
?Can you recall any particularly kooky customers/customer requests?
?We are nothing if not discreet.? All our customers are very discerning??
?Which of the Masons range do you stock?
?Masons Original, Tea, Lavender and Peppered Pear editions
Do you have any tasting dates/gin evening booked in with us?
?Yes. We have an in-store tasting booked for Saturday March 10th
What would be your desert island gin?

What is your perfect Masons serve?
